SAM = Semiconductor equipment AutoMation control system

SAM is an PC based high performance control system for control of semiconductor equipments that integrates image processing, motion control, general purpose I/Os and human-machine interface in one Widows-PC

The real-time capability, added to a conventional Windows 2000 or XP, merges each electro-mechanical components into threads in the PC processing and turns out reliable and stable control system.

||| Why a single Windows-PC can do?
After INtime, a real-time operating system, introduced to the Windows system, all the threads are distributed into multi-levels (level 0 to 255) according to each priority. Since a higher level process is so scheduled in the round-robin mechanism to execute earlier that guarantees a time-critical process is deterministically done before it becomes invalid.
||| Is there any advantage for a single computer?
The system expects faster interface (by common memory) between the electro-mechanical components, smaller area of controllers and reduction of total cost of your product.
||| I am afraid of more trouble during the development.
Microsoft's Visual Studio is also applicable to develop the real-time application. It generates real-time codes along with the wizard where you only have to add your specific coding. Online help and sample programs are provided on the Visual Studio screen too.
||| Can I re-use existent Windows application?
Under INtime, Windows applications run as much as INtime applications, therefore you are able to use the PC as an Windows PC. A Windows application developed by user can easily communicate with real-time application by.
