1.Monitor
Functions
INcase is an add-on
software that runs on a PC with Windows OS. The priority level of
INcase is higher than that or Windows OS. Therefore, INcase keeps on
running to monitor all the process of Windows as much as in the case
of Windows' hang-up. |

Hang Up Monitor
INcase detects both hang-up of OS, i.e. Windows crash (Blue Screen
of Death: BSOD) and hang-up of application. |
|
Overload Monitor
In some cases, CPU load becomes very high for a while due to any bug
of Windows or applications. In such a case, you may have to reset
the system manually. INcase detects such situations at two stages.
The firs stage is a warning stage, where INcase sends warning to the
operator asking appropriate countermeasures. The second stage is a
critical stage, where INcase will automatically shut down and
restart the system depending on applications. |

Hardware Monitor(**)
INcase monitors the hardware status of CPU temperature, cabinet
temperature, cooling fans, power supply and cabinet cover-open that
may cause system down afterward. |

Application
Error Monitor(**)
INcase detects the protected memory violation caused by application
programs providing an error log. |
|
Hard Disk
Monitor(***)
INcase detects the deterioration or abnormality of SMART disk drive. |
|
Memory Access
Monitor(***)
When a PC runs for a long period of time, the memory becomes
occupied by un-released area caused by bugs of applications (memory
leak). INcase watches the memory access to detect
the tendency of memory leak. |

External Digital
Signal Input Monitor
INcase reads-in digital signal to detect the change as
system trouble. Trouble of an UPS (Un-interruptive Power Supply) may
be an example of this detection. |
2.Notice
Functions
INcase provides various means of notice as follows to an
operator, a system administrator or to other computer so as to avoid
the situation in which any responsible person does not aware of the
system failure. |

Beep:
Using beep of standard buzzer in PC. |
|
Digital output
Either 1-bit or 8-bit contact point output is provided. |
|
RS232C Serial
Output
Using COM1/COM2 port, RS232C serial output to terminals or devices
in non-procedural protocol or to modems. |
|
EtherNet Connection
Means of notice by E-mail(SMTP) and/or access to a user's
application on other computer (socket) is available. |
3.Maintenance
and Remote Capability
INcase is furnished with powerful maintenance and remote
capability under Windows OS and its network system. |

Operation on
Windows GUI
An operator may enjoy GUI system of Windows for application
development and for monitoring/operation of the system. |
|
Operation Rate
Statistics
INcase carries out time log such as accumulated operation time or
daily operation time. Such data will be useful to maintain operation
rate statistics or historical log for parts maintenance. |

Remote Console
Network capability inherent to Windows makes INcase possible to
carry out monitoring and start/stop operation on console of a client
PC over multiple remote nodes (server PC) through network. |

E-mail Notice
and Command
INcase has capability to notify to the specified personnel/ device
at designated e-mail address with alarm or failure message. The
personal can send a e-mail command to INcase to re-start the system
or other instructions. |

Event Log
INcase at the console PC has capability to collect the data of
operation and failure event logs of all nodes. |
4.Control
Functions
Using inherent functions of a PC, INcase provides preventive
maintenance function and countermeasure functions against hang-up of
Windows OS or application software. |

Automatic
Re-start
This is the basic function of INcase that carries out automatic
shut-down and re-start when Windows OS or application software hangs
up. |
|
Scheduled
Restart
When a PC is occupied by memory leak due to long term operation,
nothing but shut-down and restart is effective. INcase provides
scheduled or periodical shut-down/ restart function and data
collection function for stable operation and preventive maintenance. |
|
Fail-Safe
Control
If automatic shut-down and re-start is executed without
consideration of external process (equipment or manufacturing
plant), it may loose control and run away. Against such a case,
INcase provides fail-safe capability in which programmable fail-safe
script for safe restart before shut down is executed. |
