Report of Semicon Japan 2008 Exhibition
- The world's largest international exhibition concerning semiconductor-fabrication equipment and material "The 32nd Semicon Japan 2008" was held for 3 days in December, 2008 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture.
- We participated to this exhibition as well as last year. Our concept is "Real-time PC Control".
We did the demonstration of the EtherCAT(R) motion control by using industrial
use PC of ten IPC vender companies. Theme was "Control the semiconductor
machine by PC-Based-Control".

Content of demonstration | - Controlling the movement of a ping-pong (table tennis) ball (using EtherCAT(R)).
- Controlling CCD camera.
- Controlling the movement of 2 axis motor in order of the image pattern taken by CCD camera.
- All control by PC that is working with INtime or INplc. |

* Point of the demo
- Two control systems : 2 axis (XY) motor control / Ping-pong ball control.
- XY motor: Motor is moved according to the mark location taken from image PC.
- Ping-pong unit: Read the position of the Ping-pong ball with the sensor, and keep hitting it not to drop.
- The image location information of the motor and the operation situation of the Ping-pong ball are displayed on the Windows screen of each IPC.
- There are 2 control programs which was made with INtime or INplc.
- IPC that controls them are changed at a fixed cycle.

Summary
- It was so big pleasure that we were able to introduce brand-new methods
of Real-time controlling motors using EtherCAT(R) by INtime, and INplc.
- For making the demonstration device, we had a hard time a little because we did a new challenge to both hardware and software.However, the challenge worked well at last, without a big trouble for three days, our exhibition made it big success. Moreover, we could get a lot of customer's concern. Now we all are very relieved with the success.
We would like to thank the customer who came to our booth during the session. And we would like to thank all supporting companies that participated in this exhibition, and all externals parties for Good Cooperation.
